The perfect job for skilled engineers who are passionate about teaching (and learning!) Open Web technologies.
Come help design and build software for our customers.
We are always looking for bright and talented Open Web engineers. If you want to join us in moving the Open Web forward, let us know.
Everyone at Bocoup has 25% open source time to work on non commercial projects on a weekly or monthly basis. Creating an opportunity for team members to explore open source on a regular basis is a priority for Bocoup.
Bocoup is a part of the international Open Web community. We hang out and hack with some of the most amazing and passionate leaders of the Open Web and we encourage and cultivate this kind of community stewardship within our own team.
At Bocoup, you'll never be told to work on something you don't want to work on. Happiness is a major priority, so you get asked about whether you want to work on something, and if you do, then you do.
At Bocoup we believe everyone is equally welcome on the Open Web. Together we work to create a safe and welcoming environment for our team and Open Web family regardless of race, gender or sexual orientation.
In addition to open source time, everyone at Bocoup gets a discretionary professional development budget for books, software, conferences, trainings, travel, or anything else that moves us forward professionally.
We're a small team with a strong merit-based culture of respect, straightforwardness, and honesty. Be prepared to defend your workflow and your opinions and philosophies about the Open Web. As a member of this team, you'll be a part of steering our mission and vision of an Open Web for everyone.
As a member of the team you'll get an equal share in 5% of profits, unlimited vacation, PPO health insurance, dental insurance, basic life insurance, vision insurance, short and long term disability insurance, a sponsored 401k, 2 months paid parental leave, and you'll be surrounded by bright people that care about you.
We are always developing new classes at Bocoup, and every member of the team can sign up for free.
After you submit your application, you can expect it to be reviewed within a week. If it seems like we’re a good fit for each other, we will follow up with you to schedule a ‘get to know you and what you care about’ phone call. After that call, if we get the sense that Bocoup will be a good environment for you, and you’ll be a good team member, we will invite you to proceed to an interview.
In this technical video call, you’ll have a chance to talk to one of our Open Web Engineers about your general technical capacity.
If you wowed us with your techpacity, you’ll be invited in for a half day at Bocoup’s office in Boston.
Next, you’ll spend an hour performing software and systems architecture exercises with another member of our team.
Then you’ll have the opportunity to spend thirty minutes giving a technical presentation, like you might give at a user group or meetup, to the entire company about a subject of your choosing, followed by thirty minutes of questions. Not sure what to talk about? Think about presenting on an open source library you use or support, common code patterns or techniques for Open Web software development, or a piece of Open Web software you’ve built.
In this final interview, you’ll have a chance to talk about why you’re a great fit for the culture at Bocoup, and talk through what professional growth means for you.
After you leave, our team will get together and talk over your candidacy. You’ll get an answer within one week of your visit to Bocoup.
